Natural Baby Care
No one has a more delicate skin than babies. Thus, no matter how careful we are in caring for them, some elements may cause harm to their skin.
All of us have heard about products which scream about being safe even on baby’s skin. This is because no one needs a milder and a purer skin care product than babies. Almost all babies are born with healthy skin. Thus, it is only natural that parents want their babies to maintain their skin. However, the use of various baby products can take a toll on sensitive skin. Thus, natural baby skin care is rapidly gaining popularity.
Natural baby care products should be more than just an option because these are the safest things to use on baby’s skin. Since they are all-natural, they are easier on the gentle skin of babies. They come with less risks of allergic reactions, and rarely have adverse effects. However just because they have “natural baby care” on their labels do not entirely mean that they can be used on all babies.
Babies, especially the very young ones, spend a great deal of time eating and sleeping. Hence, think about the type of bedding and clothing you have to expose him to. There are plenty of materials which offer natural baby care. These are those that do not contain dyes or chemicals which may cause skin irritation or allergic reactions to the baby. Cotton is a good example. Moreover, it is also breathable and serves to absorb moisture and keep the baby’s skin dry.
Most mothers are guilty of buying products according to how they smell. Bath soaps, shampoos, baby lotion, and baby powder, are chosen because they exude candy-like fragrances. Unfortunately, these are not gentle on the skin. Among all baby products babies should be exposed to, skin products should be given more attention over others. Hence, products which give natural baby care, or those with natural or organic ingredients are the better choices. These should contain natural essential oils, instead of those derived from chemicals. Some options include lavender, aloe, chamomile, and jojoba. These are not only known to be good cleansers, but they are highly therapeutic as well. Massaging the baby using lotions made from such ingredients is known to help de-stress and calm babies.
Studies conducted revealed that the reason why a lot of babies suffer from rashes and other skin conditions is because they are using the products which claim to effectively moisturize and take care of the skin. Babies do not actually need all these products. In fact, most of them do not need moisturizing at all. Those who may be born or have develop dry skin may be better off using the natural baby skin care products on the market. Newborns, particularly, are more susceptible to skin problems since their skin is more permeable than that of adults’. If parents look beyond baby product commercials, and pay more attention on what each one contains, then the risks of toxicity will be greatly reduced.
Young infants do not even necessitate daily baths. Newborn skin does not mature fast. This makes it highly permeable to chemicals. Bathing right should be done occasionally and with the use of warm water and the most natural baby care products available.
The dangers associated with using fragrance-rich baby products, as well as talcum powder should serve as a stern warning to parents. Babies are born with a sweet, natural scent. Messing around with the strong-smelling baby stuff does not only strip away the baby’s natural fragrance, but it can also lead to certain health conditions. This only proves that, with babies, nothing should be compromised.
