Plastic Bottles

As years go by, more and more mothers are very much careful with the things they are using for their newly born babies. Their crib has to be colorful, matched with colorful pieces of clothing and toys. Their milk and their food have to be the best products in the market. Any typical mother is particular about that. But the question now is about the safety of the things they are using for their babies, particularly the baby bottles. Which is better to be used: the plastic bottles or the glass bottles?

Early in 1999, there was a certain issue that drew a lot of concerns among mothers who have infants and babies. Apparently, plastic baby bottles are not safe to be used by infants and babies as they contain certain harmful chemicals that seep in to the milk especially when the milk is heated. This issue has made parents, especially mothers, worry much about the health and safety of their babies. However, there are no known studies up to this day that proves how unsafe they are. But health experts are particular with those plastic bottles that are made from plastic polycarbonate. Furthermore, research on plastic baby bottles proved that they ones that are safe to use are those that are made from opaque polyethylene, instead of those clear plastic baby bottles.

The Advantages Of Using Plastic Bottles

There are many advantages of using plastic bottles over the glass baby bottles, though it doesn’t mean to say the latter is of no advantage at all. Plastic bottles are relatively affordable compared with the ones made from glass. And because they are affordable, the idea of replacing them from time to time is not that concerning at all, as far as your financial aspect is concerned. There are questions though if they can reuse plastic baby bottles. If you are really saving a lot of your budget, reusing them can be done, but make it a point to have them properly taken cared of, plus replace their nipples from time to time. Likewise, plastic bottles are very lightweight, thus giving your babies the chance of holding their bottles on their own.

Because you are dealing with kids, it is but ordinary for you to go for colorful things around your babies. Plastic bottles come in varied shapes and sizes, with colors that can easily catch the attention of your babies. There are those whose designs allow easy grip from your babies, while there are those that have unique styles we seldom see from ordinary bottles.

If you are most concerned on the health issues of using plastic bottles over glass bottles, always remember that the key here is following the proper instructions of the bottle’s manufacturers. That is, follow the desired heating temperature for the plastic bottles so as not to affect the milk on the bottles, and of course the bottles themselves.
Always keep your plastic bottles clean. Constantly sterilizing them is very important because this is the only way to keep your bottles safe to use. In most cases, mothers change the nipples of their bottles most of the time. This is also another way to maintain your baby’s bottles.

If you are not so sure about which types of bottles you will be using for your baby, see your pediatrician. They can help you choose the right ones for you, plus give you tips on how to properly use them.

Using plastic bottles are relatively for infants only. When your child turns one, if he can already manage, it is best advised to start training them drinking milk using cups instead of bottles.

Giving the best for your kids are normal ways of showing how much you love them. Take good care of them the best possible way. After all, they are your life’s greatest treasures.
